Regal and Joseph Partners have unveiled proposals for the North Finchley regeneration project in Barnet’s town centre, London, UK.
In 2021, the parties secured a land agreement with the London Borough of Barnet to revitalise North Finchley’s town centre.
The latest proposals include the construction of new homes, commercial spaces, and a new library on brownfield sites.
The regeneration efforts are expected to boost the local economy, with an estimated £15m ($19.91m) in annual household expenditure and £1.8m in annual employment expenditure.
The broader North Finchley master plan encompasses the development of 1,100 new homes across four plots within the town centre, with building heights reaching up to 25 storeys.
Following thorough consultations with the local council and Transport for London, a reorganisation of the town’s highway network has also been proposed.

Regal CEO Jonathan Seal said: “For nearly three years we have been working hard, listening to local residents and visitors, understanding what makes North Finchley special and how it needs to evolve. Projects of this scale and complexity require shared ambition and vision between public and private sector.
“Hence we continue to work closely with Barnet Council, ensuring that we can meet the new government’s intentions to build homes at pace and bring real economic benefits to North Finchley town centre.”
Last week, Camden Council gave unanimous approval to Regal’s redevelopment plans for 100 Chalk Farm Road.
This site is approximately 0.75 acres in size and adjacent to the Grade II-listed Roundhouse.
