Winvic Construction, serving as the main contractor, has reached a milestone in the Redcliff Quarter scheme in Bristol, England, UK, with the topping out of the mixed-use scheme.
The 2.5-acre site, which had remained undeveloped for more than 20 years, is now witnessing a transformation.

In 2017, the site received planning permission for regeneration, and the first phase, comprising 118 new homes north of the site, was completed.
Madison Cairn took over as the developer.
In 2021, Cairn, in partnership with ICG Real Estate, secured planning permission for 468 new build-to-rent (BtR) homes, and a purpose-built student accommodation development comprising 367 rooms.
Grainger, a UK-based residential landlord, announced in 2022 that it had exchanged conditional contracts to forward fund and acquire the BtR element of the development’s second phase.

By GlobalDataThis acquisition includes 374 BtR homes, 94 affordable homes, and six commercial units, with the BtR element to be named Glass House.
Cairn managing director Aneil Handa said: “By working in partnership with ICG Real Estate and Grainger we secured planning permission for a revised Redcliff Quarter scheme that saw a substantial increase in the number of homes delivered on the site, compared with the previous consent.
“Importantly, the new scheme now has 94 affordable homes, which will make a real contribution to helping address Bristol’s housing need. It is great to see such progress on the construction and look forward to seeing the building getting closer to completion in 2025.”
The scheme will also offer approximately 5,900ft² of internal residents’ amenity space, around 21,200ft² external amenity space, close to 8,500ft² of commercial space, and 31 car parking spaces.

The development aligns with Grainger’s cluster strategy and adds to its existing Bristol portfolio.
This portfolio includes Hawkins & George with 194 BtR homes, and Millwrights Place, which will feature 231 BtR homes.
In March this year, Winvic commenced work on a multimillion-pound upgrade of the iPort Rail terminal near Doncaster.
