PERI Group, a Germany-based, family-owned formwork and scaffolding systems manufacturer, has acquired UK-based Mabey Hire.
The financial terms of the deal have not been made public.
The acquisition is said to be seen as a fit for both companies, with shared values in culture and a mutual commitment to engineering and professionalism.
PERI Group CEO Christian Schwörer said: “This acquisition marks an important milestone in our growth strategy to develop new market shares and areas in the civil engineering and renovation markets, especially in the UK but also internationally.”
Mabey specialises in providing solutions for infrastructure and renovation construction projects.
These projects range from ground shoring, propping, jacking, temporary bridges, and construction sensors.

Post-acquisition, Mabey is expected to continue its operations under its current management, brand, and name.
The company will operate as an independent entity under the umbrella of PERI UK.
PERI Group has approximately 9,000 employees and more than 160 locations worldwide while Mabey has a workforce of around 400 employees and representation across 16 locations in the UK.
Mabey CEO David Adams said: “Becoming part of the PERI Group is an excellent opportunity to better serve the needs of our customers and, with PERI UK, offer them the best service possible. Therefore, we already look forward to working together to expand the business by serving more customers in both the UK and internationally.”
The latest deal follows the opening of the first PERI school in Kenya catering to more than 200 children, earlier this month.
