Nordic community builder Peab has been awarded a turnkey contract to construct a new drinking water reservoir in Sweden’s Lund municipality.
Commissioned by water supplier Sydvatten, the contract is valued at Skr136m ($12.46m).
Sydvatten produces clean drinking water for the nearly one million residents of western Skåne.
The 35,000m² facility will be integrated with a newly laid drinking water pipeline.
The reservoir will be 70m in diameter and 12m in wall height, ensuring both capacity and redundancy in the water supply system.
Peab region manager Göran Wiking said: “This is an extensive and technically challenging project in which we, together with Sydvatten, will build a completely new drinking water reservoir.
