Nordic builder Peab has secured a contract from Fastighets AB L E Lundberg to renovate Spiralen Köpcentrum, a shopping mall, in Norrköping, Sweden.

This contract is worth SEK109m ($10.5m).

Peab will rebuild the property Tulpanen 18, which along with Liljan 6 makes up Spiralen Köpcentrum in downtown Norrköping.

The properties will be renovated completely, and its upper level will serve as a meeting place for businesses.

The renovation project involves making major changes in the current buildings, which will make a complete architectural face lift.

The present facades will be replaced with new ones to give a modern look.

Peab region manager Anders Bergeling said: “We look forward to the project and thank Fastighets AB L E Lundberg for entrusting it to us. Renovating Tulpanen, which will make it feel like an entirely new place, will hopefully bring joy to residents of Norrköping.”

This project, which is a turnkey contract, is expected to finish by the end of 2024.

Peab will record this contract in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Last week, Peab was awarded a contract to build an ice skating rink in Landskrona, Sweden.

This SEK161m ($15.48m) contract has been awarded by Landskrona City.

To be located in the area Landskrona IP, the new ice skating rink will consist of two standard-sized ice skating rinks.

The total area of the ice-skating rink will be 7,400m2.

Peab will develop the building as per the Miljöbyggnad Silver standard.
