Nordic community builder Peab has received a contract to rebuild Kristine Hall, Dala Sinfonietta’s concert hall in Falun, Sweden.
The Skr227m ($21.36m) contract has been commissioned by Falun Municipality.
The New Kristine Hall is set to offer a concert hall with enhanced acoustics designed for classical music performances, alongside improved working conditions for staff.
Region Dalarna will rent the premises upon completion.
This renovation will offer Musik i Dalarna one location for all its activities, providing Dala Sinfonietta with a better platform.
Councillor Liza Lundberg said: “As a Falun resident I’m proud to see Kristine Hall transformed into a modern and functional concert hall.

Peab region manager Fredrik Timan said: “We’re very happy at Peab to be entrusted with rebuilding Kristine Hall.
“For us, it’s inspiring to create something good and vital for the arts in Dalarna, and that we as community builders contribute to local development in Falun. I look forward to this project with its exciting, sustainable and well-thought-out solutions.”
Work on the Kristine Hall renovation project is anticipated to commence shortly, with completion expected in the first quarter (Q1) of 2027.
Peab registered the order in Q1 2024.
Last month, Peab was awarded a Skr247m contract by Härnösand Municipality for the construction of a new bridge in Sweden.
The community builder has been tasked with the demolition of the existing bridge over Nattviken in central Härnösand and the construction of a new openable bridge at the same location.
