Nordic community builder Peab has secured a contract from Mannersons Fastighets to construct an extended-stay hotel at Inre hamnen in Norrköping, Sweden, named the ‘Extended Stay Hotel Gamla Varvet’ in its design concept.
Under the Skr101m contract, a residential structure comprising 71 apartments will be built by Peab.
The project will feature one to four-room apartments spread across six floors.
The building will also boast a roof terrace with a facade comprising wood and concrete.
The extended-stay hotel will be constructed in accordance with the Sweden Green Building Council’s Miljöbyggnad Silver standard.
Construction at the site is expected to commence in September this year, with the building to be ready in January 2025.
Peab region manager Anders Bergeling said: “We’re pleased and proud to contribute with our expertise to the building of more homes for Norrköping residents.
“We look forward to further developing the exciting city borough Inre hamnen together with Mannersons Fastighets.”
Mannersons Fastighets’ managing director Carl-Fredrik Grönhagen said: “We believe in Inre hamnen and Norrköping and therefore dare to invest in new construction despite the challenging market situation.
“Included in the concept of the Extended Stay Hotel Gamla Varvet is the choice of long-lasting materials, apartments filled with light and lots of horizontal greenery, which is completely new for the borough.
“The project has been developed with the ground-breaking architects at Siegel and having Peab as our quality-aware contractor feels absolutely right.”
Peab will register this contract in this year’s third quarter.
The latest development comes shortly after Peab received a contract from Skandia Fastigheter to build a new police station, as well as to reconstruct and expand the Administrative Court building at Heden in central Gothenburg.
