Peab, a Nordic construction and civil engineering company, has been awarded a contract by Ängelholmslokaler to construct a new primary school in Munka Ljungby, Sweden.
The contract, valued at Skr161m ($16.9m), will see the development of a two-storey school building covering approximately 7,300m² in area.
The new educational facility will be located in the eastern part of Munka Ljungby, north of the region’s existing soccer fields and Munkahallen. It will cater to almost 600 students.
Ängelholmslokaler board chair Sten Christiansson said: “We’re very happy to start up yet another school project on behalf of Ängelholm Municipality. It’s a wonderful addition for students and teachers in Munka Ljungby.”
A-konsult, an architect company, has been involved in this construction project since the start.
Designed to meet the Miljöbyggnad Silver standard, the school will implement sustainable construction practices. It will strive for the highest standards in areas such as solar heat load, energy consumption, climate impact, and noise, aiming for Environmental Building Gold status.
