Logistics developer Panattoni has announced the start of construction on the final unit at its 1.7 million ft2 industrial park in Northampton, the UK.
The industrial park, named Panattoni Park Northampton, already has three former Panattoni buildings totalling 625,000ft2, which were developed and pre-let to Eddie Stobart Logistics before completion of Phase I.
In March this year, Winvic Construction was selected to construct industrial warehouse units at Panattoni Park Northampton, Crewe Commercial Park and Derby Commercial Park in the UK.
The company was responsible for the construction of three single-sided dock warehouses with 250,000ft2, 430,000ft2 and 380,000ft2 of area at Panattoni Park Northampton.
Winvic began construction of 250,000ft2 and 430,000ft2 warehouses, which will be available for occupation from August and September this year respectively.
Meanwhile, the construction work of the last 380,000ft2 warehouse unit is planned to commence this month.
The facility, which will be the last phase of the project, will have 15m internal height, 34 dock doors, 50m yard depth, 68 HGV trailer spaces, four level access and 296 car parking spaces with electric vehicle (EV) charging.
Panattoni stated that the latest three units on the industrial park will be constructed to achieve BREEAM rating ‘Excellent’.
The Panattoni Park Northampton is expected to support more than 1000 jobs once it is fully occupied.
Panattoni development director Oliver Bertram said: “Work is forging ahead at Panattoni Park Northampton and we expect the final unit to be available by mid February 2022.
“We are delighted with progress so far on the site and look forward to completing the final piece of the jigsaw.”
