Nordr has selected Veidekke to build an environmentally certified residential block for Lilleby Eiendomin Trondheim, Norway.

The project is valued at nearly Nkr150m ($13.4m) excluding VAT. The development is set to include a seven-storey apartment block with 60 units and a terraced house with four apartments.

The Smelteverket 3 apartment block will feature two underground levels designated for bike parking and technical and storage rooms.

This building will adhere to the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) 2016 Very Good standard, an environmental certification.

The contract also covers the second construction phase of Gartner Lunds Hage 2, which includes four 142m² terraced houses spread over three floors.

Upon completion, Lilleby will feature 1,100 residential units, including both blocks and terraced houses, surrounded by garden plots, parks, and communal spaces such as rooftop terraces.

Veidekke Bygg Trøndelag regional director Torgeir Wiig said: “We are very pleased with the renewed trust and would like to once again thank Nordr and the other owners in Lilleby Eiendom for the commission.

“Since start-up at the old smelting plant site in 2015, through a very close and good partnership we have had the pleasure of developing and building around 800 homes at a value of around Nkr1.5bn so far.”

Lilleby Eiendom is owned by Nordr Norge.

Construction of the latest project is set to commence promptly, with a target completion date in mid-2026.

This new commission is being recorded in Veidekke’s fourth-quarter order book.

Prior to this contract, Veidekke had been chosen by Fredensborg Bolig for the initial phase of the Poulssons Kvarter residential project at Fornebu in Bærum, Norway.
