Middle East based environmental and waste management company Bee’ah has selected Zaha Hadid Architects to construct its new headquarters building in Sharjah, UAE.

The building provides infrastructure, tools and support to help individuals, communities, businesses and cities achieve environmental goals.

Formal composition of the building was informed by its desert context as a series of dunes that were orientated to optimise prevailing shamal winds.

Bee’ah noted the two central dunes intersect and connect through a courtyard, improving natural ventilation and increase indirect sunlight to spaces within.

Zaha Hadid said the structure of the building reduces material consumption through architectural and structural integration, as well as recycled material recovery.
