Willmott Dixon has secured a £23.7m contract with the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) to construct a research area at Harwell Science Campus in Oxfordshire, UK.
The Harwell facilities building is expected to bolster its footprint as a science and technology R&D organisation.
It will include specialist support space for researchers to experiment and commission new scientific equipment.
Willmott Dixon obtained the contract through Scape Group's Major Works framework and is working with Oxford Architects, Clarke Nicholls Marcel and Aecom, to complete the construction of the facility by next year.
Willmott Dixon Midlands managing director Peter Owen said: “We are delighted to be back working with STFC, where we will again deploy our highly experienced science and technology build team to create the exacting standards required for the testing of accelerator and scientific instrument components."
STFC has also previously assigned a contract to the firm for building the RAL Space facility at the Harwell Science Campus, which features a satellite design, production, and research facility.
