NCC Construction Denmark has secured the Herlev Hospital extension contract to perform all concrete and steelworks required for the extension.
The extension of Herlev Hospital includes a women and children’s centre and an emergency hospital, encompassing an area of more than 56,000m².
The extension will be built using digital models. Digitisation includes usage of digital drawings with traditional 2D paper sketches, and data regarding construction is also saved digitally.
NCC Construction Denmark production manager Niels López Krogh Nielsen said: "We have been working purposefully with digitisation at NCC for a long time.
"But it is only now that all parties in a construction project are using digital construction that we can enjoy the many advantages in the projects.
"For this reason, it is really positive to see that the capital region of Denmark has put digitisation on the agenda from the very beginning."
