The Chilean Government has selected Aéroports de Paris, VINCI Airports and Astaldi to build a new terminal and operate the Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago for 20 years.

According to VINCI, the project consists of the management as well as development of the 175,000m² Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport with 37 aircraft stands.

For the project, the financial offer was fixed at 77.56% and a portion of the revenue from the concession will be turned over to the government.

As part the new concession contract, from 1 October the consortium will be responsible for renovating the existing installations with the redesign and extension of the current terminal.

The mission also includes the funding, design and construction of the new terminal, which is expected to increase the capacity of the airport to 30 million passengers. Capacity is expected to go beyond 45 million passengers.

VINCI stated that the consortium will also undertake operation and commercial development for the duration of the existing and new terminal concessions, car parks and future property developments.

Astaldi and VINCI Construction Grands projets will execute the building works.
