BIG and Heatherwick Studio have unveiled a new design for Google’s office in Mountain View, California.
The design plan has been submitted to the city’s planning authorities, and was created for a smaller location than the previous version.

Featuring a structured grid layout, the design has a square campus segmented with rectilinear modules, known as pavilions, reported Dezeen.
The original plan envisaged a village-inspired theme, where areas were segmented into different clusters.
A translucent canopy that figured in the original design to shelter the structures continues in the new plan as well. However, the canopy seems like a tent than a dome.
The campus also features a pedestrian pathway that winds through the structure, thereby linking indoor and outdoor spaces.

Heatherwick has designed the proposed Garden Bridge for London and the cauldron for Olympic Games in 2012.
BIG, on the other hand, has designed a power facility, Danish Maritime Museum and a ski slope.
