Tata Tech HQ

Developer Bam will be starting construction of the £20m European headquarters for engineering service provider Tata Technologies at Warwick, UK, this month.

Planning permission for the development will be located at Tachbrook Park in Leamington Spa, and has recently been approved by the Warwick District Council.

BAM Construction has been picked as the preferred contractor for the purpose-built office building, which will be developed on a 3.85 acre greenfield site and rise up to three stories.

Planned as a 63,000ft building, the development will house around 600 staff for the company, who will all be engaged in researching emerging vehicle technologies.

The building is expected to feature a centre for engineering support services and another for research and development at its base.

Tata Technologies intends to use the research centre to explore its capabilities and growth opportunities, especially in the automotive, aerospace and industrial machinery sectors.

The headquarters will be constructed as a curtain-walled, steel-framed building with a feature staircase and modern working environments.

"These new headquarters showcase our ambition to continue to grow and expand Tata Technologies’ operations in the UK and Europe."

Designs for the development have been created by architects Webb Gray, Bam said.

The developer intends to use natural stone for the building, which will feature two wings with a central core.

Tata Technologies Europe chief operating officer Nick Sale said: "These new headquarters showcase our ambition to continue to grow and expand Tata Technologies’ operations in the UK and Europe.

"The development marks an exciting new chapter in the company’s support of engineering excellence across the region and will create an additional 200 job opportunities at all levels, from graduate to senior roles."
