UAE-based property developer Nakheel has opened its new shopping mall on Dubai’s tree-shaped island Palm Jumeirah.
The new destination for shopping, dining and entertainment is named the Nakheel Mall and located in the centre of the island.
The $326.64m property will serve as an on-the-door convenience for 78,000 residents of the island. The Nakheel Mall will also become a new attraction for tourists to the UAE and the wider Dubai community.
As part of opening celebrations, trips to the new mall will be for free until February next year.
Nakheel chairman Ali Rashid Lootah said: “We are proud to add Nakheel Mall to our diverse portfolio of retail, leisure and hospitality projects. This stunning new destination combines first-class retail facilities with unique attractions at our flagship master development, Palm Jumeirah, which continues to be one of the world’s most sought-after places to live and visit.
“Nakheel Mall has been part of The Palm’s masterplan since day one. Today’s mall opening is another key milestone, which brings us ever closer to realising the vision for this world-famous island.”
