Swedish construction company NCC is set to renovate and upgrade the Avicii Arena, an indoor multi-arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
NCC will take up this turnkey contract by partnering with Stockholm Globe Arena Fastigheter (SGA Fastigheter), which is wholly owned by the city of Stockholm.
The order is worth approximately Skr700m.
Stockholm Globe Arena was renamed Avicii Arena two years ago. Established in 1989, it is said to be one of Sweden’s most popular event venues.
NCC built the arena in 2010, along with the accompanying SkyView glass gondolas.
SGA Fastigheter CEO Mats Viker said: “For a number of years, and within the framework of Stockholm City Council’s decision, SGA Fastigheter has been working on identifying the optimal manner in which to upgrade the fantastic Avicii Arena wisely and responsibly, Globen, for the future.
