Morgan Sindall Construction has celebrated the completion of the initial phase of Winton Community Academy works in the UK.
A frame-signing ceremony was held to mark this completion.
The event saw teachers, students, and stakeholders gather to inscribe their names on the cross-laminated timber (CLT) frame.
The £5m ($6.30m) development is part of the wider Children’s Services Capital Programme.
The project includes building a ‘standalone one form entry new-build extension’ at Winton Community Academy.
Winton Community Academy associate principal Rebecca Clark said: “We welcome the addition of our two new state-of-the-art science laboratories, enabling us to extend and improve access to practical science learning. Our two new classrooms are also vital as our school community continues to grow.

By GlobalData“It is so exciting to see the plans for the landscaped areas between our buildings, with beautiful planting, peaceful areas to sit and eat, and improved social areas for breaktimes. The much-improved bike and scooter storage space at the front of our site will make greener ways to travel to school a reality for our young people.”
The extension is expected to provide additional classroom space and a new double-height sports hall alongside the existing secondary school facilities.
Sindall’s project team has collaborated with Andover College for the project, as part of its commitment to adding social value to the community.
Sindall Construction area director Clifford Kinch said: “This momentous occasion not only celebrates our progress at Winton Community Academy, but also allows the children to envision the remarkable space they will soon inhabit.
“This project represents Morgan Sindall’s continued commitment to delivering high-quality educational facilities while fostering engagement with the local community and inspiring the next generation of construction professionals.”
Last week, Sindall was contracted by Harlow Council for a multimillion-pound regeneration project of Harlow Bus Station in England, UK.
The project is supported by government funding as part of its £23.7m Towns Fund programme.
