The contract, worth approximately €62.2m ($68.11m), has been awarded by ANAS following a European tender.

MGA will be responsible for the construction of a 1.3km tunnel along the Amatrice – Montereale – L’Aquila ridge road, part of SS 260 Picente.

The tunnel will connect Cermone with S. Giusta.

The engineering phase of the tunnel is set to commence this month, with the operational phase expected to begin by August 2024.

This project will employ roughly 70 specialised workers and is anticipated to take two and a half years to complete.
