Merko Ehitus Eesti, a subsidiary of the Merko Ehitus group, has entered into a contract with the Tallinn Property Department for the construction of the Tallinn Hobby Centre Kullo in Estonia.

The hobby centre will be located at Mustamäe tee 59, Tallinn.

The project involves demolishing the existing Kullo structure and construction of a new four-storey building with a net area of approximately 12,000m².

The contract also encompasses partial design and furnishing.

The new community centre will accommodate Kullo, claimed to be Estonia’s largest and oldest hobby school, as well as the Kristiine youth centre and library.

The development will also feature outdoor areas for public use.

Merko Ehitus Eesti is an Estonian construction company specialising in general construction, civil engineering, and residential building services.

Last November, the company signed a design-and-build contract with the Estonian Centre for Defence Investment to construct the National Defence House at the Raadi campus in Tartu.

The 5,200m² facility will feature workplaces, meeting rooms, and dormitory accommodations for the Estonian Ministry of Defence’s divisions and institutions.

The total cost of the project is estimated at €9.5m, excluding VAT.

Last month, Merko Bustas, another subsidiary of Merko Ehitus, unveiled the Šnipiškiu Urban residential development project in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The project will feature 229 apartments spread across six buildings, with an underground parking facility linking them all.
