McShane Construction Company has completed the construction of a new 318-unit apartment residence, The Lacy at South Main, in downtown Kennesaw, Georgia, US, for real estate developer Highpoint Development.

The project, which spans 19 acres, is part of a larger mixed-use community that includes 44 townhomes and a linear park.

The four-storey, wood-framed building features a combination of brick and fibre cement cladding and is complemented by a precast parking garage.

Residents of The Lacy at South Main can choose from one- to three-bedroom floor plans with high ceilings and doors, energy-efficient LED lighting, and private balconies or patios.

The kitchens are equipped with stainless steel appliances, kitchen islands, cabinetry, and tile backsplashes.

The development offers a range of on-site amenities such as a 24-hour fitness centre, a coffee bar, co-working spaces, and a lounge area.

Outdoor facilities include a swimming pool, two courtyards with grilling stations, and a pet park. Additionally, the site provides controlled-access parking and electric vehicle charging stations.

The architectural design for The Lacy at South Main was provided by Niles Bolton Associates.

McShane vice-president and regional manager Dave Meadows said: “It was an honour to bring this project to the vibrant area of downtown Kennesaw.

“This project reflects our commitment to quality construction and our strong partnership with Highpoint Development. The Lacy is a testament to the possibilities of mixed-use development in communities, and we’re excited to see it become a cornerstone of the area.”

McShane’s Southeast US regional team was tasked by National Church Residences in November of last year with constructing an affordable living community for older residents in Union City, Georgia.
