Spanning 57km², the airport is anticipated to serve more than 100 million passengers annually and will be inaugurated in 2030.

The master plan will include 12km² of residential and recreational facilities, airport support facilities, retail outlets, and other logistics real estate.

Mace Consult CEO Davendra Dabasia said: “King Salman International Airport is a game-changing infrastructure programme. The scale of ambition for the programme’s physical build, as well as its commitment to sustainability, innovation and economic development, is unmatched.

“Our consultancy experience developing some of the world’s most famous infrastructure projects, construction expertise and rich heritage in the aviation sector means we are perfectly placed to deploy our full-service offering and help KSIADC successfully deliver one of the largest airports in the world.”

The development programme is targeting Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification.

The new aviation hub is expected to drive Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 for economic diversification.

It is anticipated to be operational in time to welcome visitors to the Riyadh Expo 2030 and FIFA World Cup 2034.

Additionally, KSIADC has signed contracts with Jacobs alongside Fosters + Partners for concept master plan validation, detailed master plan design, and more.

Earlier this month, Mace, along with Corstorphine & Wright, secured a position on the second-generation Southern Construction Framework Consult.
