Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Buildings & Factories (B&F) vertical has obtained a significant contract from the Brigade Group, a real-estate developer, marking the largest residential project awarded to the business by a private client to date.

The contract encompasses the construction of both residential and commercial towers in Hyderabad and Chennai, India.

The Brigade Gateway Residences at Kokapet, Hyderabad, will consist of two luxury towers, one of which will be among the tallest in the city.

Additionally, the Brigade World Trade Centre, also located at Neopolis, Kokapet, will feature a commercial tower over 200m high. This tower will incorporate retail space and a five-star hotel, Brigade Neopolis, making it the tallest mixed-use development in Hyderabad.

In Chennai, meanwhile, the Brigade Altius project is set to become one of the tallest developments in the area, featuring three ‘Signature’ towers with a configuration of six parking levels plus 39 apartment floors.

Finally, the Brigade Morgan Heights project will comprise ten luxury towers with four parking levels and apartment floors ranging from 11 to 21 floors.

All projects will be executed on a design-and-build basis within stringent timelines.

According to L&T’s project classification, the contract is categorised as ‘Large’, with a value between Rs25bn ($289.2m) to Rs50bn.

L&T, an Indian multinational, is involved in engineering, procurement, and construction projects, hi-tech manufacturing, and services, with operations spanning multiple geographies.

Recently, the company’s Water & Effluent Treatment segment, in partnership with Spanish company Lantania, secured a contract for the Ras Mohaisen desalination plant in Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore, L&T has received orders for the construction of luxury residential towers in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chennai, with the B&F vertical leading these new endeavours.
