Kier has been selected to construct 93 new homes in east London under the latest phase of the London Borough of Hackney’s Colville Estate master plan.
The estate’s regeneration is claimed to be one of the council’s ‘most ambitious’ modernisation projects, aiming to revitalise the area with 925 new homes, civic amenities, and improved public spaces.
The UK-based Colville Estate redevelopment will unfold in seven phases, replacing more than 430 outdated homes with modern, affordable council housing.
Following the completion of phase 1, 2A, and 2B, Kier has been chosen to build phase 2C of the Colville Estate master plan.
This phase will include 93 mixed-tenure homes across two plots, including 52 social rent homes funded by the Mayor of London’s Affordable Homes Programme for returning and local residents in housing need, 19 affordable shared ownership homes for Hackney residents or workers, and 22 privately owned homes.
The 9,500m² development will also include Kier delivering the shell and core for a new energy centre, which will serve the Colville Estate and provide additional capacity for nearby developments.
