Jacobs has been awarded a contract at a total aggregate capacity of $249m by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Japan District to deliver architecture and engineering services for the US Department of Defense (DoD).
Jacobs will be tasked with a variety of services under the multiple-award contract, focusing on US military construction, sustainment, restoration, and modernisation, alongside host country construction programmes.
Jacobs will provide these services over a seven-year period. This encompasses a five-year base period followed by an optional two-year extension.
The company’s design-build capabilities are expected to enhance US military installations and critical base-wide infrastructure.
The services included under the contract encompass mission and operations, accommodation, lifestyle and recreation, health and wellness facilities, education and training sites, and support for aircraft and waterfront operations.
Currently, Jacobs is engaged with the US DoD across various foreign locations, including South Korea, Japan, Europe, and the Middle East.

By GlobalDataWithin Japan, the company has ongoing contracts with the US Air Force, delivering design services for projects at Yokota Air Base, Misawa Air Base, and Camp Zama.
Furthermore, Jacobs has utilised its contracts with the US Air Force and USACE to provide design services across all major US DoD installations in Japan, supporting the US’ armed, air, and marine forces.

Earlier this month, the UK’s Manchester Airports Group selected Jacobs, among other partners, for the £550m ($675.8m) Airfield Infrastructure Framework to support its three airports.
