Bowman Consulting, a multidisciplinary consulting and engineering services company, has been selected for a multiyear contract to deliver on-call construction management services across the Illinois Tollway’s 294-mile network in the US.
The Illinois Tollway is an agency that operates and maintains a system of Northern Illinois toll highways.
Bowman Consulting will handle third-phase construction management tasks on an as-required basis throughout the extensive Illinois Tollway network.
These duties will encompass construction inspections and oversight of key infrastructure initiatives. The projects include bridge repairs, drainage upgrades, pavement restoration, and streaming channel cross-section evaluations.
Furthermore, Bowman’s role will extend to supporting geotechnical inspections, managing project documentation, and reviewing design plans.
This approach is aimed at ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the tollway’s infrastructure.
Bowman Consulting chair and CEO Gary Bowman said: “This assignment affirms Bowman’s reputation as a trusted partner with respect to the delivery of high-quality infrastructure solutions and programme oversight to the Illinois Tollway.
“We look forward to once again working with the Illinois Tollway in support of their commitment to maintaining a safe and reliable transportation network for the millions of travellers who depend on them. New awards like this from longstanding customers underscore the confidence we have expressed in our ability to generate meaningful organic growth in 2025 and beyond.”
The contract, valued at $5m, allows the Illinois Tollway to issue specific task orders for individual projects as they arise. This arrangement enables Bowman to respond promptly and effectively to various needs within the system.
The initial phase of work under this agreement is set to commence in 2025.
In a related development, Bowman Consulting secured contracts this October from the Virginia Department of Transportation to provide engineering services for various transportation infrastructure projects across Virginia, US.
The company will handle survey, right-of-way, and utility relocation engineering for 13 separate projects, demonstrating its presence in the infrastructure sector.
