The second contract, worth RM378m, is for the first phase of a semiconductor manufacturing facility for Siliconware Precision Malaysia, at Bandar Cassia Technology Park, Penang.
This phase includes the construction of a four-storey production building, a centralised utility building, a warehouse, a substation, and a link bridge.
Completion is expected by October 2025.
To enhance the efficiency and quality of construction, IJM Construction will implement the SMART Industrialised Building System (IBS) solution from IJM IBS.
This method uses prefabricated components produced off site through an IR4.0 automated precast system, which are then assembled on site.
The approach is said to reduce construction time, as well as minimise environmental footprint.
