Freyr Battery has signed an agreement with Hent for the development of its 120,000 m2 battery factory in Mo i Rana, Norway
The scope of work for Hent includes planning, project management, and construction of the battery factory, including facilities and infrastructure.
Earlier, Hent delivered many large construction projects in the Nordics for both the public and private entities.
Hent’s role for Giga Arctic includes the construction, technical installations, and associated infrastructure.
Freyr EVP project execution Einar Kilde said: “This is an exciting milestone for us. With HENT now at the helm of constructing Giga Arctic, we expect to be well-positioned to meet our targets for clean battery production.
“We selected HENT as our partner on this journey due to their great track record in building and developing large and complex facilities, as well as their work with us so far on Giga Arctic.”

By GlobalDataFreyr announced an initial association agreement with Hent in December 2021.
This contract encompassed the first stage of development for Freyr’s Giga Arctic Factory in Mo Industrial Park.
The new agreement represents the commencement of the second phase and the beginning of the construction of the Giga Arctic plant.
