Construction and consultancy company Mace has successfully finished Gordon Murray Automotive’s (GMA) new global headquarters at Higham’s Park in Windlesham, Surrey, UK.

The campus is set to house a 4,300m² Vehicle Production Centre, Customer Excellence Centre, Aftersales and Bespoke Centre, as well as the Gordon Murray Heritage collection.

It also includes a Vehicle Dynamics Test Road, designed for the final validation and predelivery checks of GMA’s supercars.

Gordon Murray Group CEO Phillip Lee said: “The move to the new HQ will bring significant manufacturing efficiencies. The purpose-built site consolidates logistics, parts supply, and testing, while supercar production teams benefit from the latest technologies and optimised production layout, boosting efficiency, cross-team collaboration, and production quality.”

The new campus features a double-height space with an assembly area alongside in-floor trenches to allow rapid reconfiguration for different car production requirements.

A car lift has also been installed to facilitate the movement of vehicles from the predelivery and after-sales area to the first-floor customer handover display area.

This area will also showcase a selection of vehicles from Professor Gordon Murray’s influential Heritage collection.

Mace’s role as the delivery partner encompassed the development of sitewide infrastructure, including roadways, parking areas, swales, a lake, landscaping, and the aforementioned test road.

Mace Fitout & Retrofit managing director Stewart Ward said: “We are thrilled to have supported the creation of such a unique and visionary project. Working closely alongside Gordon Murray’s project team, we have delivered industry-leading quality in service, construction and fit-out at the new, state-of-the-art headquarters.”

The construction project prioritised sustainability, reducing diesel consumption by using hydrotreated vegetable oil as an alternative fuel.

The planning and execution of the works were sequenced to minimise the impact on the surrounding neighbourhood, wildlife, and ecology.

This comes after Mace’s selection for the City of London’s office redevelopment at 100 New Bridge Street earlier this month.
