Galliford Try’s Investments business has secured planning permission for a private rental sector (PRS) development at Grafton Gate in Central Milton Keynes, England.
The project, 599 Grafton Gate, will feature a 33-storey tower with 302 new homes, offering a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments designed for modern city-centre living.
The 599 Grafton Gate scheme is envisioned as a gateway building at the south-west of the city centre. Situated near the Milton Keynes Central railway station, the development is poised to bring new homes to the area and improve the surrounding environment.
The ground floor of the development will include commercial spaces, with one opening onto Grafton Park, allowing for a café with outdoor seating that integrates with the city’s green space.
The building will also offer multiple shared amenities for residents such as a fitness studio, a games room, a resident lounge, a workspace, and a private dining area.
At the pinnacle of the tower, residents will have access to an orangery and a rooftop landscaped terrace on the 29th floor, providing views of the city centre and the surrounding countryside.
Before commencing construction, Galliford Try will further develop the design to achieve Gateway 2 approval under the Building Safety Act.
Galliford Try Investments managing director Phil Harris said: “We are delighted to have been successful in achieving planning permission for the 599 Grafton Gate scheme, which adds to our growing portfolio of PRS developments across the UK.
“This is our first PRS scheme in Milton Keynes as a developer/contractor and we look forward to working with the council planning department on future PRS opportunities in the city. 599 Grafton Gate will deliver high-quality, professionally managed new homes for local people in Milton Keynes and we look forward to commencing construction in the near future.”
In a related development, Galliford Try’s Building Southern division recently began construction on the new Rowan Wood School for students with special educational needs in Royal Greenwich, London, UK.
