Ferrero North America, a part of packaged food company Ferrero Group, has broken ground on its $214.4m new Kinder Bueno production facility in Bloomington, Illinois, US.
The investment will add 200 new jobs.
The new facility will add 169,000ft2 to Ferrero’s current manufacturing campus in Bloomington.
It is scheduled to open in 2024.
Ghafari Associates, which delivered architectural and engineering design services for the bid documents related to the facility, will provide technical support as well as supervision of on-site construction.
Serving as Ferrero’s design-build partner, the Austin Company will offer engineering and construction services to the project.

The facility will support the growth of Kinder Bueno in North America. Ferrero introduced Kinder Bueno in the market in 2019.
Its expansion represents the first time that Kinder products will be manufactured in North America.
Ferrero currently has above 4,400 employees in eight offices and twelve plants and warehouses in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean.
