Wates, a family-owned development, building and property maintenance company, has submitted the planning application for the Farnham and Hilldene redevelopment at Harold Hill in UK.
Farnham and Hilldene marks the third phase of the Harold Hill Town Centre regeneration project.
This development is a collaborative effort with Havering Council to revitalise the area and deliver 481 new homes, along with retail and community spaces.
Wates team members recently showcased the site model to local councillors, which will be displayed at the Harold Hill Library for public view.
This third phase of regeneration emphasises the commitment to maintaining community integrity, as residents displaced by the redevelopment will have the right to return upon completion.
The Farnham and Hilldene project is part of the £1.2bn ($1.6bn) 12 Estates joint venture, which aims to deliver housing across Havering.
The estate ballot showed 96.3% of voters supporting the project.
All residents displaced by the redevelopment will have the right to move back into a newly built home once it is finished.
If planning for the third phase is approved, construction is set to begin in Spring 2026.
The earlier phases of the regeneration are also moving forward.
Phase one involves the construction of a new Family Welcome Centre at the former Abercrombie Hostel site, with an opening scheduled for Spring 2026.
Phase two, the Chippenham Road development, will start in winter 2025, offering inclusive and sustainable housing options, including homes for wheelchair users and young people transitioning from care.
The Chippenham Road plans also feature community gardens, allotments, and green spaces.
Earlier this month, Wates has been chosen by the UK’s Government Property Agency for the Category B fit-out of a new government office in Manchester’s First Street.
