Construction has started of the new £55m, 175,000ft2 sustainable-designed hangar facility at Farnborough Airport in UK.
The new hangar facility, Domus III, will also accommodate the increasing presence of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
The new hangar is located next to the airport’s two main taxiways.
Farnborough Airport serves more than 800 international direct connections.
Domus III will increase the airport’s hangar space by over 70%.
During the 75-week construction period, the airport will continue to remain operational.

McLaughlin & Harvey and Gebler Tooth have been appointed contractors to oversee the project.
McLaughlin & Harvey commercial manager Martin Harvey said: “Having worked closely with Farnborough Airport on a plan to increase hangar space in a manner that complements the current infrastructure, we are very much looking forward to delivering the construction of what will be further state-of-the-art facilities at Europe’s pre-eminent business aviation airport.”
