Arkan Group’s subsidiary Emirates Steel has entered into a new collaboration with Eversendai, an engineering and construction company, to support the NEOM Trojena Ski Village project in Saudi Arabia.

The partnership, formalised during a ceremony yesterday (17 July), is set to bolster Eversendai’s presence within the country.

It also reinforces the two companies’ joint commitment to sustainable innovation in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

As part of the latest collaboration, Emirates Steel will be responsible for providing steel beams that are claimed to be distinguished for their sustainability, low-carbon emissions, and durability, contributing to the construction of the ski village.

The NEOM Trojena Ski Village, located in the centre of the NEOM development, is said to be one of the country’s most significant gigaprojects.

It will also be the GCC’s first outdoor ski resort and a year-round destination scheduled to open by 2026.

The project, which forms part of Saudi Vision 2030, will feature six unique clusters that merge real and virtual design elements, aiming to create a new experience for visitors.

The village is designed to accommodate up to 700,000 guests and 7,000 residents annually, Time Out Riyadh reported in March this year.

Zawya quoted Emirates Steel CEO Saeed Alghafri as saying: “Emirates Steel is committed to supplying benchmark sustainable steel solutions that meet the stringent demands of innovative construction projects. This collaboration exemplifies our dedication to driving sustainable growth across GCC and delivering value to our partners and stakeholders.”

Eversendai deputy group managing director Narishnath Nathan added: “Eversendai is proud to collaborate with Emirates Steel on the NEOM Trojena Ski Village, a landmark project that will showcase our collective capabilities in delivering world-class steel construction solutions.

“This partnership highlights our commitment to pushing the boundaries of engineering and construction.”
