The first phase of the rural plan includes 18 new services such as nurseries, parks, healthcare facilities, and government services, including civil defence and ambulance stations. The Higher Committee for Urban Planning in Dubai is overseeing these developments across 2,216km².

The plan also encompasses shared and mass transportation solutions, traffic improvements, and the development of the first recreational tourist route in the region.

The Dubai Countryside & Rural Areas Development Plan is a 20-year initiative that aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, aiming to preserve each area’s identity while enhancing public services and creating a sustainable transportation system.

Al Maktoum said: “These development projects align with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and are part of the ambitious vision to provide sustainable natural environments and integrated facilities that allow everyone to enjoy the unique natural settings while meeting modern lifestyle requirements.”
