Dominus, a developer of urban renewal projects, has announced the appointment of McAleer & Rushe for the construction of a new purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in London, UK.
This project, 65 Holborn Viaduct, marks the 11th collaboration between the two companies and aims to provide 669 bedrooms across 14 storeys, catering to students from nearby universities.
It is positioned to serve students from the London School of Economics, King’s College, and Queen Mary University.
The scheme, designed by Stiff + Trevillion Architects and Jonathan Cook Landscape Architects, will offer a variety of bedroom types, including studios and cluster apartments. Notably, 35% of the accommodation will be affordable, with 64 rooms designed for wheelchair access.
Amenities for students include a café/bar, cinema room, music rooms, a gym, and roof terraces. Additionally, there will be 494 long-term and 32 short-stay cycle parking spaces, with provisions for adapted cycles.
This PBSA development will not only cater to the needs of students but also contribute to the local community.
