India-based data centre operator CtrlS Datacenters has announced its partnership with Thai state-owned telecommunications company National Telecom Public (NT) to build a 150MW data centre campus in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in Chonburi, Thailand, reported ETCIO South-East Asia.
This greenfield data centre facility in Thailand will be the first international market expansion for CtrlS, as well as its first hyperscale data centre campus in the country.
Due to its digitalisation, implementation of 5G, and enhanced connectivity via submarine cables with nations such as the US, Singapore, China, Japan, and Taiwan, Thailand is stated to be an ideal destination for the manufacture of digital infrastructure, said CtrlS.
Furthermore, the development of a data centre in the EEC is expected to attract both foreign and local hyperscale and enterprise customers from the food processing sectors and other critical industries.
For this project, CtrlS is building the campus itself while NT will serve as one of its partners for network and connectivity.
The two entities are forming a collaboration of convergence of data centre colocation services and several cloud-based services that are put together and known as Convergence of Data Center, CLS & Terrestrial.
