Webuild Group’s Swiss subsidiary CSC Costruzioni and its consortium partners have secured a highway maintenance contract in Ticino, Switzerland.
The estimated value of this contract is €157m.
With a 35% share, CSC will manage the consortium. Implenia, Edilstrada, Matteo Muttoni Costruzioni, and Casada are among its other partners.
The contract was awarded by Switzerland’s Federal Roads Office (USTRA) as part of the USTRA EP 28 Gentilino-Lamone project.
The consortium intends to modernise and perform maintenance work on a stretch of 6km of the N2 motorway from the north portal of the Gentilino tunnel to Lamone, which also involves an interchange to the north of Lugano.
The contract also includes the reconstruction and modernisation of 27 buildings, underpasses, bridges, and other related civil works.

The executive phase of the project in particular is expected to be complex since it will take place without interfering with traffic flow. Approximately 80% of the asphalt used in repaving the section of the route is set to be recycled.
CSC has previously taken part in several motorway projects between Milan and Gotthard, which involved the maintenance and repairs of approximately 2km of road between Chiasso and Lugano, Ticino.
