Croydon Council and the Department for Education (DfE) in the UK have appointed Kier for two education projects in the London Borough of Croydon.

The company will deliver a £13.6m special educational needs (SEN) school, named Addington Valley, in New Addington.

As part of the project, Kier will design and construct a school for 150 pupils aged between 2 and 19 years.

Set to feature new facilities for its pupils, the 3,450m² two-storey school is being developed to address the communication, cognitive, sensory, social, emotional and behavioural needs of its students.

Kier has also been appointed by the DfE to deliver the refurbishment scheme at Park Hill Junior School in Croydon.

For this project, the company will refurbish the existing school and replace its windows. The project also includes re-roofing sections of the school.

With the latest appointments, Kier will be able to further strengthen its position as a leading provider of educational facilities.

The DfE also appointed Kier to deliver the £15.6m Harris Clapham Sixth Form Academy for the Harris Federation. As part of the project, the company will demolish an existing former army reserve centre building and construct a new-build part three and four-storey building.
