Create Developments, a part of Create Group, has secured planning approval for the development of a new 251 bed ibis Hotel at Edinburgh Airport.
The firm will finish the £19m scheme with its sister firm Create Construction, which will offer the build element for the project.
Create has signed the franchise agreement with hospitality group Accor to operate the hotel under the Ibis brand.
The hotel, to be located near the Edinburgh airport and business park, will feature ibis’s new contemporary ‘Plaza’ design concept.
Interior specialists ICA, will work with Accor’s Design & Technical Services team to create the global Plaza design concept.
The hotel will feature a restaurant and a bar, and will provide parking space for up to three coaches and 125 cars.

Create Developments CEO Paul Mathison said: “With seven live developments at various stages – from planning, construction and branding, we are excited about developing our new relationship with Accor and hope that we can continue to support them in their future expansion journey.”
Construction of the hotel will start later this year and will go on for 70 weeks. The hotel will open by early 2023.
