Extended Stay America, a hotel brand, has announced the commencement of construction of its first Extended Stay America Select Suites prototype in Florida, US.
This franchised property, under development by Southern Hospitality, is intended to cater to the needs of value-conscious guests planning longer stays.
Southern Hospitality president Nikesh Shah said: “We look forward to building the first new Extended Stay America Select Suites and providing affordable accommodations in Wildwood. The Select Suites prototype has a clean and simple design, which benefits hotel developers and operators.

The design of the four-storey hotel prototype is crafted to enhance efficiencies while offering essential amenities.
It is being constructed on a compact piece of land spanning 1.75 acres.

By GlobalDataWith a total area of more than 50,000ft², the property will include 124 apartment-style suites.
These suites will feature full kitchens and on-site laundry facilities.
In keeping with its strategy to reduce operational costs, the Extended Stay America Select Suites prototype will offer minimal public spaces.
The prototype is anticipated to open in early 2025.
Extended Stay America Franchise Development managing director Mark Williams said: “The new construction prototype represents the next phase in the strategic growth of our economy extended stay brand.”
In March last year, the company entered into an agreement with BASK Development for the development of eight Premier Suites across Florida markets.
