Construction has commenced of Spina block, which is GoCo Living residential scheme’s first block out of the planned three in GoCo Health Innovation City in Mölndal, just south of the city of Gothenburg, Sweden.

The GoCo Living project in total will have around 470 rental apartments.

The residential area is owned by the property company Trenum and will be managed by Fastighets AB Balder (Balder).

Fastighets AB Balder and the Third Swedish National Pension Fund each own 50% of Trenum.

Balder CEO Erik Selin said: “At Balder we are very proud to be a part of this new and exciting district. The location is fantastic and through cooperation, and a common ambition to create a vibrant district, together we complete the plan for GoCo Health Innovation City. I look forward to seeing our three blocks filled with tenants.”

Spina will feature around 170 apartments in four to ten floors. It will have apartments ranging from one room to spacious four rooms.

Its ground floor will provide space for retail such as café and restaurants.

The block will feature solar cells and seek Miljöbyggnad Silver rating.

Socialising and well-being will be key aspects of the residential project. Therefore, all three blocks will feature courtyards for residents to meet and talk.

Byggnads AB Tornstaden is serving as the turnkey contractor for Spina.

GoCo Health Innovation City, which is home to health and life science companies, is a billion investment project owned by Next Step Group, property company Vectura and AstraZeneca.
