The Seafields at Kiawah Island project will also feature a first-of-its-kind, in-house medical clinic, which will be operated by the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC Health).

The new medical clinic will be constructed in response to the lack of medical facilities in Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island area.

To deliver the project, Balfour Beatty will collaborate with Big Rock Partners, which will make the second project partnership between the companies.

Balfour Beatty Carolinas senior vice president said Jeff Sandeen said: “We are thrilled to officially start construction on the Seafields project with our partners.

“Our company has had the privilege of working with Big Rock Partners to deliver the award-winning Windsor at Celebration independent senior living project in Florida and we look forward to building another project with the same prestige and prominence for the growing senior community in the Sea Islands.”

Other team members of the project include LS3P working as architect, Kiawah Partners is the master developer and Kiawah Island Real Estate is the broker.

Construction work on the new luxury senior living residence is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
