Construction has started on the first 51 homes at a site, which will be known as Milby Meadows, at Top Farm in Weddington, UK.
Develop Warwickshire, a collaborative venture between Vistry, Warwickshire Property & Development Group (WPDG), and Warwickshire County Council, has initiated the work.
The project, located on the outskirts of Nuneaton, marks the beginning of a 1,700-home development.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council approved the initial phase of homes at Milby Meadows last month.
The homes are set to incorporate contemporary construction techniques and will feature amenities such as air-source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging stations.
Concurrently, efforts to establish a northern link road that will integrate the adjacent developments are in progress.

By GlobalDataThis roadway will facilitate access to a new secondary school for 11-16-year-olds currently under construction at the site.
The school is expected to accommodate 900 students and is set for completion by the UK’s Department for Education in September 2025.
WPDG managing director Stuart Buckley said: “We achieved outline planning permission for this site in November 2022, so to be on site in less than two years is a huge achievement for a scheme of this scale.
“We are creating a sustainable community at Milby Meadows, with 1,700 homes, schools, a local centre, parks and public open space. It will give local people access to excellent-quality homes and act as a catalyst for economic growth in Nuneaton.”
Lambe Construction has already been carrying out the initial groundwork at the site.
Develop Warwickshire has also submitted a planning proposal for the subsequent phase of the project.
If approved, this would pave the way for an additional 480 homes, a community park, play areas, and public spaces.
Upon completion, the development is set to offer a variety of home types ranging from one to four bedrooms.
The mix will include units for private sale, private rental, and affordable housing options – with affordable housing constituting 25% of the total homes.
Platform Housing Group has been appointed as the affordable housing partner for this initiative.
Develop Warwickshire has pledged £2.5bn ($3.21bn) towards constructing new homes throughout the county.
