Design-build company Clayco has launched its new business unit, Clayco Compute, which will specialise in the construction of advanced technology buildings such as data centres and quantum computing facilities.
This strategic initiative seeks to capitalise on the growing demand for onshore production in the US, supported by bipartisan consensus on its importance for America’s national security.
It also addresses the private sector’s increasing need for secure, high-performance data storage, digital transformation, cloud computing, and AI capabilities.
Clayco has delivered or is overseeing more than $12.7bn in projects, including 57 active data centres.
Last year, data centre projects generated $3.6bn for the company, over double from $1.5bn in 2023 and accounting for half of Clayco’s total revenue.
With the launch of Clayco Compute, the company is expected to continue this upward trajectory, projecting revenues to exceed $4.5bn by 2026.
