All-electric homebuilder City Ventures has commenced construction on the Eginhouse townhome redevelopment project in Artesia, California, US.

The ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow (3 April), marking the start of a new community within the city’s northern end.

City officials, staff, and project partners are expected to join the event.

The 4.2-acre site, previously an industrial area, is located at the south-west corner of Arkansas Street and Pioneer Boulevard.

City Ventures president Natasha Zabaneh said: “Repurposing a once-blighted commercial area with sought-after residential in a vibrant storefront-lined street scene is a win-win for everyone.

“Together, we’re creating new possibilities for residents and tenants here in Artesia.”

The development will feature 59 three-storey townhomes, including 22 units designed for live/work purposes, and an additional 4,544ft² of commercial space on the ground floor.

City Ventures executive vice-president Ryan Aeh said: “We’re thrilled to play a role in revitalising this dynamic area of Artesia.

“This property is tucked away in a unique corner of town with many perks, including great schools and convenient access to freeways – which will be a plus for both future residents and commercial tenants.”

Work on this redevelopment project follows a grand opening to debut City Ventures’ Grove Village community in Santa Rosa, US, in August last year.

The community includes a wide-ranging collection of solar-powered, all-electric residences ranging from approximately 1,806ft² to 2,473ft².
