Carolina Panthers in the US has unveiled designs for the new Rock Hill development to house its training facility and business headquarters.
The American football team released the plans and renderings of the mixed-use site along with York County and the City of Rock Hill.
The site has been designed to host Tepper Sports & Entertainment, the owner of Carolina Panthers.
Tepper Sports & Entertainment vice-president and chief operating officer Mark Hart said: “We saw the vision of the site and we knew from the very beginning that it was more than just a football facility and a couple of fields.”
Upon completion, the Rock Hill development will feature restaurants, retail, a healthcare facility, apartments, hotels, trails and office space.
It will include a 120,000ft² indoor practice facility, a 113,000ft² multipurpose sports and entertainment venue, and outdoor practice fields.

By GlobalDataFeaturing 80ft-tall operable glass doors, the indoor practice field can host athletic events and games, concerts, and other corporate events.
A 20,000ft² weight room, a 6,000ft² locker room, and a 5,000ft² hydrotherapy room are among the team’s amenities.
Within the development site, the 5,000-seat outdoor, multipurpose stadium ‘The Park’ has been designed to host events such as high school football games, soccer games, concerts, among others.
The open space within the site called ‘The Grove’ has a series of reflecting pools, lighting, and landscape.
Hart added: “’The Park’ itself, with its scalability between 5,000 and as high as 20,000, I think is a great platform for festivals, concerts, all kinds of large ticketed events.”
Within the 3.9 million square feet of development, more than 60 acres of native trees will be saved while preserving a half-mile of natural creek.
About 2.5 miles of public trails will be connected to Rock Hill’s multi-use path system, allowing the public to view the five-acre lake and water feature.
For the project, more than 13,000ft of new public streets and 2,600 parking spaces are planned in addition to the sidewalks and trails for cyclists, runners, and walkers.
Construction on the new practice facility and team headquarters started recently, with completion expected in 2023.
