The construction of a new multistorey car park at Milton Keynes University Hospital in England, led by construction company Galliford Try’s Building East Midlands segment, has reached a significant milestone with its topping out.
The project, which began in September 2024, is set to enhance the hospital’s parking capacity and electric vehicle charging facilities by mid-2025.
The Galliford Try team, alongside representatives from the Milton Keynes New Hospital Programme and Milton Keynes University Hospital National Health Service (NHS) Trust, commemorated the topping out of the car park.
This collaboration will add three levels to the site’s existing car park, providing over 450 additional spaces to accommodate the hospital’s expansion.
Galliford Try Building East Midlands managing director Jon Marston said: “We are delighted to celebrate the topping out in collaboration with the Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Trust and our key partners. We are proud to play a role in advancing the growth and accessibility of healthcare services within the Milton Keynes community.”
In addition to the Milton Keynes development, Galliford Try’s Building London and South East Commercial business commemorated a similar event at the Brent Cross Town regeneration scheme.
The topping out of Plot 14 at this scheme, which will offer 286 build-to-rent homes and communal facilities, marks another step forward in the £8bn ($10.46bn) project aimed at revitalising the area with new homes, workspaces, and recreational spaces.
Galliford Try Building London and South East Commercial managing director Matthew Pool said: “As we reach this key milestone with Plot 14, we are delighted to continue delivering high-quality build-to-rent homes and exceptional amenities for future residents. This is a significant step forward in the overall vision for Brent Cross Town, and we are proud to contribute to this vibrant, sustainable community.”
Earlier this month, Galliford Try’s Investments business also made progress by securing planning permission for a private rental sector development at Grafton Gate in Central Milton Keynes.
