Bird Construction has been awarded five projects with a combined value of more than C$575m ($418.61m) across Canada.
The company secured a civil and concrete package for Dow’s Path2Zero project, an initiative to create the world’s first net-zero petrochemical facility.
In late 2023, Dow Chemical announced an investment of C$6.5bn in the Path2Zero project, aiming to retrofit and expand its manufacturing site in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
The project is set to reduce Dow’s global ethylene capacity emissions by approximately 20% and increase polyethylene supply by around 15%.
Meanwhile, the 2NationsBird joint venture, a collaborative effort between Bird, Willow Cree Developments, and FLFN Ventures, has been awarded work for the foundations and underground utilities at SaskPower’s Aspen Power Station project.
This 370MW power station is expected to bolster renewable power generation and provide reliable power in Saskatchewan.
